Design Manager
Summary
Lead a design team to create office furniture layouts and 3D renderings, produce construction drawings, and mentor junior designers using AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Revit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design team in delivering creative and practical workplace and office furniture design solutions.
- Develop space planning layouts, design concepts, and high-quality 3D visual renderings based on client requirements.
- Prepare detailed construction and shop drawings for office furniture and interior fit-out projects.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of design documentation before submission.
- Prepare presentation materials, including sample boards, material boards, and design proposals.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to develop design proposals and support client presentations.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure design intent is maintained throughout project execution.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building regulations, and industry standards.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing technical support and design direction.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, timelines, and client expectations are met.
- Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and workplace design innovations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including experience leading design projects or teams (managerial experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of workplace interior design and office furniture systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, 3ds Max, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of Revit/BIM is required.
- Strong space planning, technical detailing, and construction drawing skills.
- Excellent presentation and visualization abilities.
- A strong design portfolio showcasing completed projects.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
