Design Manager

Summary

Oversee M&E design and drawings for construction projects, ensuring code compliance and cost efficiency while managing vendor coordination and approvals.

Responsibilities

Design& Specifications Management

  • Responsible for the design, shop drawings, standard details and calculations etc.
  • Lead and conduct engineering and design works.
  • Reviewing of design, specifications & drawings in the construction projects to drive cost savings through optimized design / DFMA etc, and to resolve technical issues at the upstream flow during the design and planning stage before the projects were executed.
  • Attend technical/design clarification and project meetings with the vendors and the subcontractors with regards to the combine services drawings to ensure no conflict.
  • Develop and manage the design approval process with subcontractors, consultants and clients in a timely manner.
  • To manage design submission process, track the submissions and report it.

Budget& Schedule Management

  • Establish and track the development of design deliverables against procurement schedule and budget, ensuring on-time completion.
  • Identify and highlight any potential design risks or issues that will impact Project Performance.

Requirement

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 yrs of relevant hands-on M&E experience in construction industry, LTA projects, mixed development etc·
  • Need to be familiar with Singapore codes such as SS638 (CP5), SS650, SS555 etc.
  • Hands-on experience in AutoCAD drawings is preferred
  • Familiarity in BIM (Revit /Navisworks) is advantageous
  • Having consultancy experience is preferred
  • Possess effective organizational and follow-up skills, meticulous
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to interface with all levels, internally and externally, in a professional and responsive manner
