Design Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed design, drawings, and document submission schedules, ensuring that submissions are properly sequenced and aligned with construction, procurement and master programme.
- Lead the coordination and resolution of design matters with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces across Civil & Structural, Architectural, Mechanical & Electrical.
- Review design drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions, material submissions, and method statement documents for completeness and constructability.
- Identify design risks, discrepancies, clashes, and potential delays, and implement appropriate mitigation and recovery measures.
- Work closely with the planning, construction, commercial teams to ensure that design deliverables support site progress and procurement requirements.
- Chair design coordination meetings and follow up on agreed actions to ensure timely closure.
Required Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
- Proven experience managing design activities for large-scale construction projects, preferably under design-and-build contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, design coordination, statutory requirements, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
