What's in it for you:
The CAMS Designer 1 is an entry-level design role responsible for creating 2D and 3D designs used in manufacturing customer-specific units. This position uses Creo Parametric and proprietary Trane Technologies software that applies Boolean logic to drive parametric CAD models. The role also includes reviewing work for accuracy, following drafting standards, supporting portions of larger projects, and collaborating with a technical team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused designs.
What you will do:
Use Creo Parametric and proprietary Trane Technologies software to support rules-based, parametric CAD modeling
Apply Boolean logic and established design rules to configure product designs accurately
Interpret engineering instructions, drawings, schematics, and related documentation
Produce design documentation using CAD and product lifecycle management systems
Review designs and orders for accuracy before release to manufacturing
Follow established drafting standards, design practices, and company procedures
Support portions of larger design projects and complete assigned tasks on time
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to deliver quality solutions
Continue building technical knowledge through training and development opportunities
Travel occasionally, as needed, to support products or training
What you will bring:
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related field
Basic knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting principles
Basic knowledge of 3D CAD, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Creo Parametric
Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Exposure to Boolean logic, rules-based modeling, or programming concepts
Computer science coursework or programming experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas
