Designer
KMEC Engineering and Conveying designs and manufactures bulk material handling systems, including belt and pocket belt conveyors, radial stackers, ship/barge loaders and unloaders, drag and screw conveyors, and bucket elevators.
We are seeking a Designer with Revit and/or Tekla experience to join our engineering team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop 3D models using Revit and/or Tekla Structures for bulk material handling and industrial projects.
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA), structural, mechanical, and fabrication/detail drawings.
- Model conveyors, chutes, equipment, structural steel, platforms, stairs, and supporting structures based on engineering sketches and specifications.
- Review vendor drawings and equipment specifications to determine proper arrangement, mounting, access, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate models and identify potential interferences or constructability issues.
- Produce and revise drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Tekla.
- Occasionally travel to job sites to collect field measurements and design information.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Drafting, Design Technology, or related certificate/degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of 3D modeling/design experience.
- Revit and/or Tekla experience strongly preferred.
- AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Experience with structural steel, industrial equipment, conveyors, or bulk material handling systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with AISC, ASCE, ASME, CEMA, AWS, OSHA, and MSHA standards is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong 3D visualization and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor information.
- Ability to independently research equipment/components to understand installation and mounting requirements.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
