Summary

Designer II at Exante360 designs and coordinates electronic and physical security systems (video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter protection) for construction projects, producing construction-ready floor plans, single line diagrams, device schedules, and Division 28 specs in Revit and AutoCAD. Remote role with client, contractor, and BIM collaboration.

Exante360, Inc., is looking for a Designer II that wants to join us on our bold initiative of “improving lives through relationships, by connecting people to solutions.”

Role

Exante360 is seeking a Designer II to design and coordinate electronic and physical security systems for construction projects, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection. You’ll interface with internal and external project team members to identify project requirements, make recommendations, and tailor designs to each project’s needs, collaborating with subject matter experts, project managers, BIM staff, architects, general contractors, and end-user clients to deliver coordinated, construction-ready security packages.

Exante360 is building an AI-forward organization. We are looking for professionals who embrace artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation as part of how they work. Ideal candidates are proactive in learning and applying new technologies, comfortable integrating AI tools into their workflow where appropriate, and capable of combining technology with sound business judgment to deliver exceptional results.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and document electronic security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and security communications, along with physical security elements such as gates, fencing, and barriers.
  • Produce accurate, timely deliverables including annotated floor plans, mounting details, single line diagrams, device schedules, means and methods/sheet notes, and Division 28 specifications.
  • Develop technology construction design documents in Revit and AutoCAD that comply with all applicable codes and standards.
  • Establish design criteria based on preliminary drawings and project estimates, and provide conceptual input to consultants and project managers during the planning stages of a project.
  • Support project requirements through client interaction, field visits, and basis of design narratives.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and manufacturers’ prints for conformance with contractual details, and support the project team through construction completion.
  • Prepare detail and layout drawings that apply installation and construction knowledge so contractors clearly understand the design in the field.
  • Collaborate with peers, subject matter experts, project managers, and BIM staff to deliver coordinated technology packages to architects, general contractors, and end-user clients.
  • Adhere to and participate in Exante360 QA/QC processes.
  • Perform project management and construction administration activities such as scheduling, organizing, and creating project documents.
  • Provide training and share knowledge with other members of the design staff.
  • Stay current on the latest security products, technologies, and codes to recommend the most robust systems possible.

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical specification knowledge of video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and physical security systems, including gates, fencing, and barriers.
  • Familiarity with the design of Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (PIDS), such as FLIR thermal technologies, ground radar, and fence detection (e.g., Southwest Microwave), and a basic understanding of video analytics.
  • Expertise in developing Division 28 specifications and applying quality control techniques to compare specifications and drawing packages.
  • General knowledge of NEC, NFPA, EIA/TIA, and BICSI standards.
  • Proficiency in manual and computer-assisted design techniques; strong familiarity with current versions of Revit preferred.
  • Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, customer service, excellence, and versatility.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel as required by project needs.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years of low-voltage/security design experience.
  • Solid understanding of technology design concepts for security systems.
  • Experience producing technology construction design documents in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • BICSI and/or ASIS certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI, automation, data analytics, or other emerging technologies to improve efficiency, decision-making, collaboration, or business outcomes.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months

  • Independently produces accurate, code-compliant security design packages (plans, details, diagrams, device schedules, and Division 28 specifications) on multiple concurrent ECOE projects.
  • Delivers coordinated drawing and specification packages that move through Exante360 QA/QC with minimal revisions.
  • Provides timely, thorough submittal and RFI reviews that keep projects on track through construction.
  • Builds strong working relationships with project managers, BIM staff, clients, and contractors as a trusted technical resource.
  • Makes progress on a professional development pathway, such as Lenel Certified Design Architect (LCDA) or ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP).
  • Demonstrates Exante360’s core values through exceptional collaboration, accountability, customer service, versatility, and commitment to excellence.
