Designer

Job Description:

  • Product Analysis & DFM: Review part designs for moldability, draft angles, shrink rates, and potential defects.
  • Mold Design & Drafting: Create precise 3D CAD models and 2D engineering assembly and component drawings.
  • System Optimization: Design critical components such as parting lines, lifters, sliders, and cooling/heating channels.
  • Mold Flow Analysis: Simulate the injection process to optimize gate locations, fill time, and reduce warping or air traps.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product designers, toolmakers, and CNC machinists to troubleshoot fabrication or production issues.
  • Documentation: Prepare material lists, mold specifications, and cost estimations for tooling.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or Tool & Die Making.
  • Experience: Typically 3–5 years of direct experience in injection mold design or tooling.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong expertise in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Creo.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of plastic materials, molding processes, and machining techniques.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
