Role summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our MES team. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise Java applications within Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role requires deep technical ownership, the ability to lead the delivery of scalable and reliable MES solutions, and the application of sound judgment to resolve complex technical challenges. The individual will collaborate closely with business, manufacturing, quality, and technical stakeholders, influencing technical decisions and driving solutions that support critical operations and long-term business objectives.
Role expectations
- Design, develop, enhance, and support Java-based MES applications and integrations, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Own complex technical deliverables and initiatives from requirements analysis through implementation, validation, deployment, and production support.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code using Java, SQL, and related enterprise development tools.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex MES application issues impacting manufacturing operations, data integrity, system performance, and business continuity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate manufacturing and quality requirements into robust technical solutions and drive successful implementation.
- Lead technical discussions, influence architecture decisions, and provide technical mentorship and guidance to other developers.
- Identify opportunities for system optimization, technical innovation, and continuous improvement across MES platforms and development processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, establish development standards, and promote engineering best practices across MES development teams.
What we're looking for
Typically:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
- 4–6 years of directly related experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Professional experience as a Java Developer, with strong ownership of enterprise application development and support.
- Hands-on experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming, SQL databases, debugging, and application troubleshooting.
- Experience with NetBeans IDE or similar Java development environments.
- Experience with Pnuts scripting or similar scripting languages used in MES environments.
