Developer Backend

About the role

You will be responsible for building robust, tested, and enterprise-architecture-compliant Java/Spring-based backend services. Beyond developing standard APIs, you will design event-based components (Event-Driven Architecture), create internal libraries (SDKs) for other developer teams, and maintain high-throughput, reliable, and fault-tolerant data exchange flows. This role is ideal if you care about code quality, master the Java ecosystem, and have an interest in Apache Kafka and Developer Experience (DevEx).

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services and event-based components using Java, Spring Boot, and message brokers (Apache Kafka)

• Build, document, and maintain internal libraries or SDKs for use by other developer squads

• Develop reliable integration paths between legacy systems and new services according to system design and API contracts

• Implement advanced failure handling mechanisms (retry, exponential backoff, Dead Letter Queue)

• Write comprehensive automated tests (unit & integration testing) according to team test coverage standards

• Conduct active code reviews, follow up on QA findings, and perform responsive bug fixes

• Monitor and maintain reliability and performance of data exchange flows between services continuously

About you

• Minimum 4 years of experience in backend development

• Proficient in Java 17 (or newer) and Spring Boot 3 / 4 framework (including Spring Kafka, REST API, and JPA/Hibernate)

• Proficient in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and its core concepts: producer, consumer group, partition, offset management, and rebalancing

• Proficient in data serialization using Avro and Schema Registry management

• Understanding and hands-on experience implementing event-driven architecture patterns (idempotency, exactly-once processing, and Outbox Pattern)

• Familiar with automated testing practices (JUnit, Mockito)

• Good understanding and hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and basic Kubernetes knowledge

• High discipline toward code standards, meticulous, communicative across roles (Frontend, QA, PM), and possess a "developer-as-a-customer" perspective in preparing technical documentation and sample code
