This is an opportunity to build and lead a developer community from the ground up, shaping its culture, engagement model, and long-term growth. You will serve as a trusted connection point between developers and internal product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams. The role combines community strategy, technical content, events, moderation, and developer advocacy. You will turn community conversations and feedback into actionable insights that influence products and programs. Success will depend on authentic communication, strong cross-functional collaboration, and data-informed decision-making. The role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to create programs that help developers connect, learn, contribute, and grow.

Accountabilities

  • Build and grow the developer community, establishing its foundations, culture, governance, and engagement programs from the ground up.

  • Act as the primary community voice by responding to questions, participating in discussions, and maintaining active engagement across relevant platforms.

  • Moderate community channels, enforce guidelines, manage escalations, and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.

  • Organize recurring office hours, AMAs, developer challenges, prompts, and hackathons to encourage participation and strengthen developer relationships.

  • Develop and manage a content calendar, creating and coordinating educational and engagement-focused content with internal contributors.

  • Identify opportunities for tutorials, technical guides, use cases, and other resources that make it easier for developers to learn and adopt the platform.

  • Nurture emerging community contributors and connect them with broader advocacy and engagement programs.

  • Implement recognition initiatives such as gamification and badging to highlight meaningful community contributions.

  • Capture developer feedback, pain points, feature requests, and product needs, translating them into actionable insights for internal teams.

  • Triage bug reports and roadmap requests, coordinate with relevant stakeholders, and maintain communication with community members through resolution.

  • Track and report community health metrics, including engagement, response times, sentiment, participation, and overall program performance.

  • Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or community management, with demonstrated experience building communities from the ground up.

    • Proven ability to launch and grow a developer community, including establishing early engagement strategies and scaling participation over time.

    • Experience developing governance, moderation, engagement, and content programs across platforms such as Slack, Discourse, Reddit, or similar communities.

    • A degree in computer science or equivalent software engineering experience, with a solid technical foundation and familiarity with open-source development.

    • Familiarity with work management, automation, SaaS, or developer-focused platforms; relevant platform experience is an advantage.

    • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create technical, approachable, and human responses for audiences with varying levels of expertise.

    • Experience planning and executing content calendars that balance evergreen educational material with timely community initiatives.

    • Strong empathy for developers, with the ability to celebrate community successes while handling sensitive feedback thoughtfully and discreetly.

    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across product, engineering, marketing, customer success, and other functions and drive alignment around community priorities.

    • A data-informed approach to community management, with experience tracking health metrics and using insights to improve programs.

    • Strong organizational skills, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple community initiatives simultaneously.

    • Benefits

      • Remote-friendly opportunity based in India.

      • Significant ownership to establish and shape a developer community from the ground up.

      • Opportunity to collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.

      • Exposure to developer advocacy, technical content, community strategy, and product feedback programs.

      • Opportunity to create innovative engagement initiatives including hackathons, challenges, AMAs, office hours, and recognition programs.

      • An environment that values diverse perspectives, professional growth, and meaningful contributions.

      • Support for an accessible and inclusive interview experience, with accommodations available where needed.
