Development Manager for Document Lifecycle
Description
Are you passionate about leading high-performing teams and delivering business-critical technology solutions? BEC Financial Technologies is looking for a Development Manager to join our Document Lifecycle Management team at our office in Roskilde.
Our team develops, maintains, and operates core document management and archiving platforms used by Danish banks. These solutions support essential banking processes and enable secure, compliant, and reliable document handling throughout the document lifecycle.
As Development Manager, you will lead a distributed team of specialists based in Denmark and Poland and manage strategic vendor relationships. Reporting to the Head of Document Lifecycle Management, you will drive delivery, ensure operational stability, and support the continued evolution of critical platforms that operate around the clock, every day of the year.
Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, vendors, and other technology teams, you will play a key role in shaping the future of document lifecycle management at BEC.
At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, while also offering the opportunity to work remotely on average up to 1 day per week.
Primary tasks and responsibilities:
- Be accountable for the team’s contribution to the domain roadmap and delivery against agreed objectives.
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of technical solutions that create value for our customers and BEC.
- Define and maintain the delivery strategy and team setup required to deliver the team backlog effectively.
- Lead the performance of people, processes, vendors, and technology, with clear roles, responsibilities, and processes across the value chain.
- Build a culture of cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage and govern third-party vendors, ensuring delivery quality, performance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure that development complies with BEC’s architectural principles, engineering standards, and security requirements.
- Own the maintenance and operation of the systems and platforms within the team, including incident and problem management, service continuity, system lifecycle management, and technical debt.
- Ensure operational excellence through proactive management of audit and compliance requirements, patching, technical vulnerabilities, exceptions, and lifecycle risks.
- Ensure that solutions comply with relevant regulatory, information security, data protection, and audit requirements.
- Secure the budget, resources, approvals, competencies, and organizational support required for successful delivery.
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, gather feedback, and translate business needs into clear priorities.
To succeed, you will have:
- A relevant higher education, preferably within IT, finance, business, or a related field, combined with several years of experience in a similar leadership role.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams, preferably in mission-critical IT environments.
- A strong ability to set direction, develop people, create engagement, and establish clear accountability.
- A curious, open, and positive mindset, with a strong focus on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
- A solid end-to-end understanding of enterprise technology, from user-facing applications and integrations to platforms and underlying infrastructure.
- Experience driving implementation, organizational change, and measurable business value.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, technology, vendor, and leadership communities.
- A customer-focused and service-minded approach, with a commitment to stable, secure, resilient, and well-maintained solutions.
- A passion for agile values and principles, combined with the pragmatism to adapt ways of working to the team and delivery context.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Danish language skills are an advantage.
- The ability to travel occasionally between Denmark and Poland.
Nice to have:
- Experience from banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, audit management, information security, data protection, or operational resilience.
- Experience managing strategic vendors and commercially governed technology deliveries.
- Knowledge of document management, archiving, retention, document distribution, or related lifecycle processes.
