Financial Services Firm is hiring for an experienced Application DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting critical technology platforms. This is a hands-on role focused on Python automation, production stability, application resilience and continuous improvement within a complex, high-volume technology environment. You will work across application, infrastructure and engineering teams to improve the reliability, scalability and operational performance of business-critical platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Python-based automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support and enhance critical production applications and services.
  • Drive improvements across resilience, availability, performance and capacity.
  • Manage deployments, releases, production readiness and failover activities.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure and batch-processing issues.
  • Identify root causes and deliver sustainable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, automation and wider DevOps and engineering best practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Python development skills, particularly for automation & operational tooling.
  • Experience in DevOps, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering or SRE.
  • Experience supporting business-critical, high-availability applications.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD, deployment, monitoring and software development lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, resilience, failover and capacity management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across applications and infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive approach with strong ownership and problem-solving capability.

It would be an added advantage if you had any of the following:

  • Financial Services, Capital Markets or Trading Technology experience.
  • Exposure to risk, trading or regulatory technology.
  • Cloud, containers and modern DevOps tooling.
  • Large-scale distributed or high-performance computing environments.
