DevOps Cloud Engineer II (Databricks)
Summary
Maintains and troubleshoots AWS cloud environments, automates deployments with Terraform and CI/CD, and ensures security and performance for production workloads.
Overview
Cloud Engineer, Dev/Ops Engineer
As a member of Cloud Operation Center, the Cloud Engineer responsibilities are as follows:
- Responding to cloud environment issues (cloud problem and incident management for example: portal access, security, etc.)
- Assisting with user access issues and modifying access requests.
- Using tools to ensure peak performance of deployed cloud environments.
- Using tools to ensure adherence to security best practices including MFA, key management, etc.
- Implementing tasks under the guidance of Cloud architects.
- Responding to cloud monitoring alerts.
- Ensuring the overall health of all Cloud environments with regards to patching, anti-virus, backups, performance thresholds, etc.
- Assisting the users with any Day2 troubleshooting issues.
- Migrating to new releases of Terraform, Bitbuckets, etc.
- Creating and maintaining Runbook and other support documentation.
- Adhere to ITIL processes (change, problem, configure, incident management).

Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist with the development, modification and release of code for IaaS, PaaS and software defined infrastructure. This includes assisting Cloud Architects and Cloud Developers with:
- Distribution of pipelines and automation to deploy features and updates
- Bug fixing and improvements
- Code review and release management
- Provide guidance and creating tools/scripts to automate application & infrastructure deployment
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud based hands on experience in AWS
- Strong working experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) especially working with AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle utilizing the DevOps framework around CI/CD
- Very good understanding and experience in networking and security knowledge, such as routing, firewall, VPN, TCP/IP, VPC, SG, Anti-virus, security risk remediation etc.
Mandatory Skills
- Good track record of hands-on working experience with AWS services preferably AWS data related services
- Working experience as DevOps with good Python programming skills
- Experience supporting production Cloud workloads using native and 3rd party tools
- Good interpersonal skills especially with a diverse and global user base
- Good knowledge of CI/CD tools, processes, and procedures (e.g. AWS CI/CD services, Jenkins)
- Good knowledge of code and binary repositories (e.g. GitHub or Bitbucket)
- Good knowledge of CloudFormation or equivalent provisioning and automation tooling for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure
- Some knowledge of Automation and Configuration Management toolsets (e.g. Ansible)
- Hands on experience in scripting skills like PowerShell, Ruby, Python, or Bash
- Hands on experience and good working knowledge with Infrastructure as Code concepts
- Strong command of English language (both verbal and written)
