DevOps Consultant

We are seeking a DevOps Consultant to support the uplift of DevOps capability, delivery governance, and technical delivery practices across a large and complex technology environment.

This role is well suited to someone with a consulting background who combines hands-on DevOps knowledge with strong stakeholder engagement, governance, and delivery coordination skills.

Must Have- Baseline OR NV1 clearance.

Key Responsibilities DevOps Capability & Continuous Improvement

• Assess and improve DevOps maturity across technical delivery teams.
• Define, implement, and promote DevOps standards, delivery practices, and governance frameworks.
• Provide practical guidance to engineering and delivery teams on DevOps adoption and delivery excellence.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, delivery processes, release management, and operational efficiency.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across delivery teams.

DevOps Reporting & Delivery Governance

• Develop and maintain delivery metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Monitor DevOps performance, delivery health, and compliance with agreed standards.
• Support governance and assurance activities across multiple workstreams.
• Identify risks, issues, and delivery impediments, escalating where appropriate.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve delivery outcomes.

Technical Delivery & Release Support

• Support planning and coordination of technical delivery activities, releases, and deployments.
• Assist with release readiness, implementation planning, and transition-to-support activities.
• Track dependencies, deliverables, and actions across multiple teams.
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in a DevOps Consultant, DevOps Engineer, Technical Delivery Consultant, Release Manager, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting release management and technical delivery activities.
• Ability to establish reporting, metrics, and delivery dashboards.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
