DevOps Engineer / Application Manager (m/f/d)
Join an exciting company that develops and operates scalable end-to-end solutions for cashless payments in e-commerce. Our focus goes beyond software development—we are equally committed to ensuring the stable, secure, and high-performance operation of our applications.
Your challenge:
As a DevOps & Application Manager (m/f/d), you will support the development lifecycle of our payment environments—from the initial idea and implementation through to production. We offer a tailored onboarding plan, including a mentoring program and regular training opportunities to support your professional growth.
What you can expect:
You will be responsible for the operation and continuous enhancement of our Java-based applications (WildFly) and their associated databases, ensuring reliable and high-performing operation in Linux server and Kubernetes environments.
You will manage deployments, updates, and rollbacks while taking system dependencies and operational processes into account. You will analyze system landscapes holistically and resolve incidents in a structured and sustainable manner.
You will build and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab Ultimate or Jenkins.
You will drive the automation and optimization of operational processes and ensure reliable system performance through monitoring, telemetry, and performance analysis.
You will document processes and collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will also support the migration of our applications to the cloud.
What you’ll need:
A degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification—or equivalent professional experience in a DevOps or CI/CD environment.
Solid hands-on experience operating Linux-based systems.
Practical experience designing, operating, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines (e.g. with GitLab CI or Jenkins) as well as a strong understanding of deployment and release processes. You are familiar with common build and deployment tools (e.g. Maven) and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
A strong understanding of infrastructure, system architectures, and the interaction of production systems. Ideally, you have worked in business-critical or regulated environments and have a strong awareness of security and quality standards (e.g. PCI compliance).
Ideally, you have gained initial experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS/EKS) and cloud migration projects.
Experience with application monitoring, performance optimization, and operating stable production environments.
Good German and English language skills complete your profile.
