DevOps Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud infrastructure for clients using AWS, GitLab, Terraform, and Datadog.

DevOps Engineer – AWS / Cloud

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract, with potential to extend
Location: Singapore

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain CI/CD platforms such as GitLab and GitHub Actions.
  • Design, automate and optimise CI/CD pipelines using custom runners, with a strong focus on quality, security and reliability.
  • Design and support deployment models across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
  • Implement and manage containerised environments using Docker, Kubernetes/EKS and related technologies.
  • Support application teams with cloud migration and application modernisation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK and related tools.
  • Implement configuration management, monitoring and observability solutions such as Datadog and Helm.
  • Provide hands-on support across AWS compute, networking, storage and security services.
  • Support DevOps adoption across Agile development teams and improve developer experience through Internal Developer Platforms & Portals.
  • Work closely with development and technology teams to understand requirements, identify pain points and propose effective technical solutions.
  • Promote DevOps best practices, automation, security and continuous improvement across engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 4 years in DevOps roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing CI/CD platforms, particularly GitLab or GitHub Actions.
  • Strong experience with AWS across compute, networking, storage and security services.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
  • Strong experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK, Helm and observability tools such as Datadog.
  • Experience across both on-premises and cloud-native deployment models.
  • Understanding of application modernisation and cloud migration strategies.
  • Experience with Agile software development and supporting development teams with DevOps adoption.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, quality and automation practices.
  • Knowledge of multi-account AWS environments and cloud cost optimisation is an advantage.
  • Experience with OpenShift or GCC is desirable.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or Solutions Architect are a bonus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively within complex organisations.
