DevOps Engineer

Summary

Maintains CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for an aerospace/defense engineering team using automation and orchestration tools.

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in DevOps or related field
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools and principles
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices
  • Proficiency in orchestration and workload automation
  • Familiarity with Public or Private Cloud management
  • Understanding of configuration management and source control
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose multi-domain issues
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within a team setting
  • Experience with programming languages for automation tasks
  • Proficient in containerisation technologies
  • Solid understanding of application technologies and databases
  • Knowledge of IT operations and security best practices
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an active eDV security clearance
Responsibilities:
  • Act as a bridge between development, testing, operations and system administration teams
  • Ensure continuous and high-quality software delivery
  • Implement processes and tooling for efficient software deployment
  • Design and maintain automation solutions for building, testing, and deploying applications
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across infrastructure, code, networking, and databases
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the team and broader organization
  • Adapt to new technologies and situations quickly
  • Manage ongoing support for production environments
  • Maintain security considerations throughout the development lifecycle
  • Document architectures and design solutions following best practices
