DevOps Engineer
Summary
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure with Ansible/Python/Bash, and modernize trading apps on Kubernetes in a capital-markets modernization program.
Caspian One is working with a leading Capital Markets organisation undergoing a significant infrastructure and application modernisation programme. As part of this initiative, we're looking for several DevOps Engineers to join a team focused on improving automation, standardising deployment processes and modernising a portfolio of business-critical trading and analytics applications.
This is a hands on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys solving infrastructure challenges, automating manual processes and working closely with development teams to improve how applications are built, deployed and supported.
You'll be working across a diverse application estate. Some platforms are already containerised and operating in modern environments, while others remain more traditional and require significant transformation work.
The focus is on driving DevOps maturity, implementing infrastructure automation, improving deployment reliability and helping move applications towards a more standardised operating model.
What you'll be doing;
- Building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Developing automation solutions using Python, Bash and related tooling.
- Creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks and configuration management processes.
- Supporting and deploying containerised workloads across Kubernetes platforms.
- Working on application modernisation and containerisation initiatives.
- Managing environments across development, test and production.
- Troubleshooting issues across application, infrastructure and deployment layers.
- Partnering with Development, QA and Platform Engineering teams to improve delivery processes and operational efficiency.
- Driving initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve platform reliability.
What we're looking for;
We're interested in engineers with a strong infrastructure background who have moved into DevOps and automation-focused roles.
Key skills include:
- Ansible
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Python and Bash scripting
- Docker, Podman and/or OpenShift
- Git
- Infrastructure and environment management experience
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Additional experience that would be useful:
- Application modernisation projects
- Release management tooling
- Financial markets, trading systems or market data environments
Why consider it?
This is not a role where you'll spend your time maintaining BAU processes. The programme is focused on genuine engineering and transformation work, giving individuals ownership of applications and the opportunity to influence how they are deployed, automated and supported in the future.
There is a strong emphasis on technical capability, autonomy and problem solving, with engineers expected to take ownership of outcomes and work closely with colleagues across development, infrastructure and architecture teams. The programme itself is expected to run for several years, offering long-term project visibility and a steady pipeline of engineering challenges.
