Discussion

Summary

A hands-on DevOps engineer joins Levy's global Development Services team in the Netherlands to accelerate an ongoing migration of source code and CI/CD pipelines from Jenkins (plus Bitbucket, AWS CodeCommit/CodePipeline) to GitLab. Day to day: building and standardising GitLab CI pipelines, troubleshooting migration issues, and supporting developers, using Git workflows and Python/Bash scripting.

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer with proven experience migrating CI/CD pipelines from Jenkins to GitLab. You will join the global Development Services team, supporting the migration of source code and pipelines across multiple development teams. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys practical implementation, solving pipeline challenges and working closely with developers to deliver technical improvements. The migration is already underway, so the immediate priority is to accelerate execution and help teams transition successfully to GitLab.

Outcomes of the project

The objective is to accelerate the migration to GitLab across the organisation, enabling development teams to adopt standardised CI/CD pipelines and development practices. You will contribute to the successful migration of existing repositories and pipelines, build or adapt pipelines where required, and support teams in adopting the new setup.

About the role

As a DevOps Engineer within Development Services, you will work in an international environment supporting development teams across multiple regions. You will contribute to the transition from existing CI/CD tooling to GitLab, helping teams migrate efficiently and ensuring their pipelines are functional, consistent and maintainable. The team has already established the foundations of the migration.

Your focus will be on hands-on delivery, troubleshooting and helping the programme progress at pace.

You will:

  • Migrate source code and CI/CD pipelines from Jenkins to GitLab.
  • Support the transition from existing tooling, including Bitbucket, AWS CodeCommit and AWS CodePipeline, where applicable.
  • Build, configure and adapt GitLab CI/CD pipelines for different development teams.
  • Apply standardised pipeline structures, Git workflows and branching practices.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and resolve pipeline-related challenges.
  • Collaborate directly with developers to support their migration and onboarding.
  • Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • Contribute to consistent DevOps practices across distributed development teams.
  • Support deployments on cloud and container platforms where required.
