DEVOPS ENGINEER

This role oversees the deployment and configuration of application and system releases, supporting both automated and manual processes. It requires close coordination with internal teams and clients to align release schedules, confirm requirements, and ensure smooth implementation across environments. Releases may include new applications, updates, security patches, system enhancements, and infrastructure upgrades.

• Guide teams through release and configuration procedures.

• Plan deployment schedules and manage documentation, approvals, and release readiness.

• Review and validate deployment instructions for accuracy and applicability.

• Execute deployments across development, test, and production environments.

• Refine implementation and rollback plans to improve reliability.

• Contribute to risk assessments for software and system changes.

• Configure system components such as web servers, application environments, databases, and other architectural elements.

• Address system and application vulnerabilities through proper configuration and updates.

• Conduct production go-live deployments and confirm adherence to approved plans.

• Report and manage failed releases, ensuring rollback procedures are executed when needed.

• Support root-cause analysis and recommend long-term corrective actions.

• Assist with troubleshooting as an escalation point for complex issues.

• Facilitate the transfer of deployment assets and documentation to client counterparts.

• Bachelor's degree in IT related courses.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in system/server administration, application development, or release and configuration management.

• At least 3 years hands-on experience in AWS, particularly in configuration and release management tasks is a must.

• Hands-on experience managing and configuring server operating systems such as Windows, Solaris, and Red Hat Linux.

• Familiarity with configuring relational database platforms like Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience working with application servers and related technologies (e.g., IIS, Tomcat, PHP, MySQL/MS SQL services).

• Practical experience deploying or configuring virtual machines, servers, containers (e.g., Docker), or similar technologies.

• Solid understanding of security patching, server hardening practices, and vulnerability management.
