Job Description
We are seeking Platform / DevOps Engineers to design, build and deploy prototype Defence systems using modern cloud native technologies. You will work across microservices, containerisation, automation and CI/CD pipelines, contributing to high quality engineering outcomes and supporting Defence clients in technically challenging environments. This role suits engineers who enjoy problem solving, collaboration and working in a smaller, high performing team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy prototype Defence systems using Docker, Kubernetes and cloud native technologies
• Work with Defence clients to understand requirements and plan delivery activities
• Build microservices and distributed systems using modern engineering practices
• Apply automation including Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD to improve development and delivery
• Contribute to code reviews, design reviews and collaborative development
• Continue developing technical capability through on the job learning and professional development

Education/Certifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering
• Australian citizenship
• NV1 with ability to obtain TSPV clearance

Knowledge/Skills Required

• Containerisation using Docker
• Kubernetes orchestration; Helm v3 experience desirable
• Microservice architectures
• Automation using Ansible
• CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab) and deployment tooling
• Experience with data pipeline or lakehouse technologies such as Dagster, Spark or Hadoop (highly valued)
• Familiarity with Agile development practices
