About the Role Our client, a fast-growing fintech startup, is seeking a skilled Dev Ops Engineer to join their dedicated team in Bloemfontein, Free State. This role is essential for building, automating, and optimizing our client's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of their cutting-edge financial platforms. You will be instrumental in implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes, and managing cloud resources to support rapid development cycles. This is an on-site position, providing an opportunity to work closely with a dynamic engineering team in Bloemfontein and contribute directly to the company's technological advancements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP), automation tools, and best practices for infrastructure management in the financial technology sector within Free State.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Automate cloud infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent issues.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring cost-efficiency and scalability.
- Implement and maintain containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop scripts for automating repetitive tasks and operational processes.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth and efficient release cycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Dev Ops trends and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a Dev Ops or Systems Engineering role.
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Circle CI).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Power Shell).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
