Position Overview

DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is an IT & Services opportunity for an experienced cloud and automation professional with strong expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and secure cloud platform operations. The role requires designing highly available infrastructure, automating deployment processes, supporting scalable microservices environments, and improving the reliability of cloud systems used in regulated digital and enterprise technology ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related automation tools.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, YAML, declarative configuration, reusable modules, and automated provisioning practices.
• Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton, GitHub, GitLab, and other modern delivery tools.
• Implement container orchestration practices across Kubernetes and OpenShift environments to support scalable microservices platforms.
• Manage infrastructure deployments, scaling, monitoring, rollback processes, and release automation across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Support cloud platforms such as AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or similar environments used for enterprise application hosting.
• Ensure reliable connectivity between cloud services and on-premise systems through VPN, firewall rules, network routing, and secure access controls.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, QA, security, and architecture teams to ensure smooth integration between applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks to improve deployment speed, consistency, and platform stability.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, pipeline failures, connectivity problems, container errors, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
• Apply cloud security best practices across networking, access control, secrets handling, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure configuration.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, service availability, capacity utilization, and system health to reduce downtime and service disruption.
• Evaluate, test, and integrate new tools or platform improvements that increase automation, reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain technical documentation for infrastructure designs, deployment processes, pipeline configuration, troubleshooting steps, and operational standards.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or similar platforms.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and modern containerization technologies.
• Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
• Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code methodologies, YAML-based configurations, version-controlled infrastructure, and automated deployment practices.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or GoLang for automation and operational tasks.
• Experience supporting microservices architectures and troubleshooting issues across frontend, backend, container, network, and cloud layers.
• Excellent understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, cloud connectivity, routing, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and GitLab for source control, code review, branching, and collaborative delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues in high-traffic systems and recommend infrastructure optimization measures.
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or e-commerce will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and large-scale performance tuning will be beneficial.
• Cloud or DevOps certifications in AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, or related tools will be a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a clear focus on automation, infrastructure reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
