DevOps Engineer
Summary
DevOps Engineer managing hybrid on-premise and AWS infrastructure for a medical-imaging AI scale-up, including the Kubernetes migration, Linux servers, and AI training infrastructure. Day to day involves IaC (Terraform/Ansible), monitoring, and incident response during office hours, with no on-call duty.
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll help advance and manage the infrastructure underpinning the organization's AI models and software. You'll work in a hybrid environment of on-premise infrastructure and the cloud (AWS), and play an active role in the ongoing transition to a Kubernetes environment. Besides the production environment, you'll also manage the infrastructure used by AI engineers to train their models. Monitoring and quickly responding to incidents is part of the role, without any on-call obligation; this stays within office hours.
What you'll do
- Manage and further develop both the on-premise and cloud (AWS) infrastructure
- Actively contribute to the transition to, and management of, in-house Kubernetes clusters
- Maintain the Linux-based server environments, including the AI training infrastructure
- Monitor environments and ensure fast response to incidents
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (preferably using Terraform and Ansible)
- Work closely with fellow infra developers and various development teams
- Uphold a high standard of security, given the sensitivity of medical and patient data
You'll join an international scale-up (50+ employees) that started a spin-off from a leading Dutch university. The organization develops AI-driven software for the quantitative analysis of medical imaging, with a focus on lung conditions. The technology is used worldwide by hospitals and in clinical trials within the pharmaceutical industry, and is fully certified according to relevant medical standards. You'll be part of a small, close-knit DevOps team and work closely with various development teams, including a team focused on AI/deep learning.
- Bachelor's degree level (must)
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS (or another cloud environment)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and Ansible
- Knowledge of and experience managing Linux environments
- Fluent English, as this is the team's daily working language
- Salary up to €6,000 gross per month
- 8% pension contribution, membership fully covered by the employer
- Commuting allowance (public transport or car, up to 50-75 km one-way), parking costs reimbursed
- Company laptop
- 60% of time working on site
