DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, automation frameworks and deployment platforms. The successful candidate will work across development, infrastructure, network and security teams to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, scalability and operational performance.

The role requires strong hands-on experience across DevOps, CI/CD, cloud platforms, containerisation, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and scripting, with exposure to network/security automation and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions and related DevOps tools.
• Manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including OpenShift (OCP).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and support automated infrastructure provisioning.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, vRealize Automation/Orchestrator and other automation platforms.
• Manage and support cloud environments across AWS, Azure and GCP, as well as VMware, OpenShift and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
• Implement and maintain software quality, security and vulnerability scanning within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Nexus and JFrog.
• Support application and infrastructure deployments across development, testing and production environments.
• Develop scripts and automation using Python, Ruby, Groovy, Shell, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Implement DevOps automation for network and security infrastructure, including Terraform-based CI/CD for network and security groups.
• Perform network configuration management, provisioning, decommissioning, testing, validation, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Configure and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using AppDynamics, Nagios, SCOM, Grafana and Kibana.
• Manage source code and version control using GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and SVN.
• Support database environments including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB and SQL Server.
• Work with REST/SOAP APIs and API Gateway technologies such as Akana and Kong.
• Support application frameworks and technologies including Ruby on Rails, Django, Angular, React, Hadoop, Ionic and Bootstrap where required.
• Participate in change and release management, including CMDB, ServiceNow and self-service portals.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security and application teams to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, runbooks and operational standards.
• Utilise GitHub Copilot and AI/automation tools to improve development and operational workflows, with a basic understanding of prompt engineering and agentic AI for development.

Candidate Profile

• Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of containerisation, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
• Good programming/scripting capabilities in at least one of Python, Ruby, Groovy, Shell/Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience integrating security and code-quality tools into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of network, security and infrastructure automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across development, infrastructure, security and operations teams.
• Experience working in structured change, release and incident management environments is preferred.
