DevOps Engineer

Summary

Build and run Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform, automate CI/CD pipelines, and embed DevOps practices to help teams ship software faster and more reliably.

About the Role

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer who knows Azure and Terraform inside out. You'll build and run the infrastructure that lets our teams ship faster and more reliably - designing cloud environments, automating everything that can be automated, and making sure our systems stay secure, scalable, and easy to maintain.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" role. You'll shape how we build in the cloud, working close to development teams to solve real problems and make delivery smoother for everyone.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure on Azure using Terraform as infrastructure-as-code

  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines that get code from commit to production quickly and safely

  • Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and scaling of cloud resources

  • Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting so issues get caught before they become incidents

  • Work with development teams to embed DevOps practices into the software lifecycle

  • Manage Azure networking, identity (Azure AD/Entra ID), security, and cost optimisation

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and pipeline issues, and lead root-cause analysis when things break

  • Keep infrastructure code modular, reusable, and well-documented

  • Stay current on Azure services and DevOps tooling, and bring good ideas back to the team

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role

  • Strong, hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, identity, security)

  • Deep experience writing and maintaining Terraform modules for real production environments

  • Solid scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, or Python)

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)

  • Working knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)

  • Understanding of networking, security, and identity management fundamentals

  • Comfortable owning a problem end to end, not just handing it off

Nice to Have

  • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, or AZ-305)

  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef)

  • Exposure to GitOps workflows

  • Experience in a regulated or high-availability environment
