DevOps Engineer Expert

Job Description

DXC Technology Italy is looking for a Sr DevOps / Systems Engineer to join the C&I offering.

The position offers a gross annual base salary starting from €46,000. Compensation is determined in line with the applicable collective labor agreement (Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per l’industria metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti) and based on objective and gender‑neutral criteria, including responsibility, experience and skills.

Responsibilities

Kubernetes Operations

  • Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on‑prem or cloud).
  • Manage cluster lifecycle: upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and maintain cluster components such as ingress controllers, storage integrations, and networking plugins.
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and adherence to best practices.

CI/CD Pipeline Engineering

  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Automate application deployment workflows and environment provisioning.
  • Integrate testing, security scanning, and quality gates into pipelines.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Use Terraform, Helm, and related IaC tools to define and manage infrastructure.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks using Bash or Python.
  • Maintain version‑controlled infrastructure and configuration repositories.

Monitoring & Observability

  • Deploy and manage monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager).
  • Implement logging and metrics collection for cluster and application visibility.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis and optimize system performance.

Systems & Platform Support

  • Manage Linux‑based systems and container runtimes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support containerization and deployment best practices.
  • Participate in on‑site operational activities, troubleshooting, and incident response.

Requirements

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes administration.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and pipeline design.
  • Solid understanding of container technologies (Docker, containerd).
  • Experience with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows.
  • Good scripting skills in Bash or Python.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Strong Linux systems engineering background.
