Summary
DevOps engineer building infrastructure from scratch for APOLO, an early-stage P2P tutoring platform for blockchain/crypto education (100% equity compensation). Day to day: auto-scaling cloud setup on Hetzner, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/alerting, backups and disaster recovery, and IaC with Terraform/Ansible, Docker/Kubernetes.

About Us: APOLO P2P is the first global, 1-to-1 tutoring platform dedicated exclusively to blockchain and cryptocurrency education. Students book tutors by the hour, learning exactly what they need, when they need it – all within an integrated environment that includes video calls, code editors, whiteboards, trading charts, and more.

What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer who thrives in startup environments, understands scalability, and is passionate about building robust infrastructure from the ground up.
Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (auto-scaling, redundancy, uptime)
Deploy CI/CD pipelines to streamline developer operations and code quality
Monitor system performance, logs, and security across environments
Collaborate with developers to ensure secure, fast, and stable deployment processes
Set up and maintain alerting systems, backups, and disaster recovery
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible
Optimize cost-efficiency of cloud resources
Contribute to a security-first DevOps culture and implement best practices
Tech Stack (Preferred): Cloud: Hertner (at the moment) (auto-scaling, regional backups)
CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar
Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
IaC: Terraform, Ansible
Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
Security tools and protocols (TLS, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
Requirements: Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in a production environment
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and scalable systems
Familiarity with both frontend and backend developer workflows
Self-driven, responsible, and committed to long-term impact
Strong communication skills and remote collaboration abilities
