DevOps Engineer
Summary
Designs and maintains infrastructure for a Slurm-based HPC cluster, Dockerizing workloads, building storage layers, and adding monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana/ELK.
DevOps Engineer : Up to £300 per day Outside IR35 : Hybrid North East
Key Responsibilities
- Extend Slurm cluster job scheduling via Docker and test AWS expansion
- Design and implement a big data storage layer for optimisation outputs (MongoDB or S3-backed)
- Augment REST API with endpoints for job submission, status, and results retrieval
- Integrate monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Extend Vue/Python dashboards and deliver IaC templates with full documentation
Skills & Key Requirements
- Strong Slurm or equivalent job scheduler experience
- Deep Docker knowledge (Kubernetes a plus)
- Big data database design: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Hadoop/S3
- Python/Flask for API development
- Observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
Day Rate: Up to £300.00 per day Outside IR35
Location: North of England preferred, hybrid
