A 6-month outside-IR35 contract (up to £500/day) for a DevOps Consultant / Platform Engineer at a London technology business, working hybrid to scale its GCP platform. Day-to-day: improving cloud architecture, building CI/CD and IaC with Terraform, and adding monitoring, observability and cloud security best practice.
An exciting technology business in London is looking for a DevOps Consultant / Platform Engineer to help scale its cloud infrastructure, deployment processes and operational capabilities as the platform enters its next phase of growth.

The Job
As the DevOps Consultant , your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and improving the existing GCP cloud architecture
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Building monitoring, logging, alerting and observability capabilities
- Improving platform reliability, scalability and operational resilience
- Implementing cloud security best practices across infrastructure and deployments
- Developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Supporting engineering teams with platform strategy and operational improvements
- Driving best practice across DevOps, cloud operations and platform engineering
- Identifying operational bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions
You
- Strong DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Infrastructure experience
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Knowledge of monitoring, observability, logging and alerting tools
- Strong cloud security and operational best practice experience
- Experience supporting and scaling production environments
- Python and FastAPI exposure beneficial
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Able to work autonomously and influence technical direction
