About the Role:
We're looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps Engineering team.
You'll work on the infrastructure and delivery systems that quants, traders and developers
rely on every day — where latency, reliability and security carry real financial weight.
This is a hands-on engineering role with genuine ownership. You'll work directly with
development teams to design, automate and optimise deployment workflows across a hybrid
AWS and on-prem environment, building the tooling and platforms that let the rest of the firm
move fast and safely. If you enjoy treating infrastructure as a product and want your work to
have immediate, measurable impact, this is a role where you'll see exactly that.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement and manage scalable infrastructure across AWS and on-prem,
applying cloud security best practices and cost-optimisation strategies. - Design and maintain reusable Terraform modules for Infrastructure-as-Code, with a strong
emphasis on consistency, testing and reuse across teams. - Automate configuration management and system provisioning using Packer and Ansible.
- Build and own CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable software delivery.
- Develop and maintain automation tooling and scripts, preferably in Python or Go.
- Deploy, manage and scale containerised workloads with Kubernetes and Helm, including
authoring Helm charts, templates and pipelines. - Run and improve our GitOps delivery model (ArgoCD, Atlantis, etc)
- Manage and tune OpenSearch clusters.
- Administer and optimise Linux-based systems for security, performance and reliability.
- Partner with developers to enhance tooling, streamline deployments and remove friction
from the development experience. - Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment and application issues across the
stack.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years architecting, implementing and managing scalable infrastructure on AWS.
- Strong networking fundamentals and a track record of diagnosing tricky networking
issues. - Solid experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK /
OpenSearch). - Comfort scripting and building automation in Python or Go.
- A pragmatic approach to balancing speed and accuracy when making technical decisions
Personal Attributes
- Clear communicator — you explain technical concepts concisely to technical and non-
technical audiences alike. - Adaptable — you adjust quickly to new technologies and unexpected challenges.
- Analytical — you break complex problems down logically and methodically.
- Collaborative — you prioritise team success over individual wins and support
teammates as they learn and troubleshoot. - Accountable — you follow through on commitments and own your mistakes.
- Proactive with a growth mindset — you take initiative, seek feedback, and continually
look for ways to improve skills and workflows.
