Devops Engineer (Java, Spring, SQL)

• Design and develop software solutions with regard to full technical stack in line with business requirements, applying architectural best practices for efficient code creation.
• Ensure software quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle to deliver reliable products.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Implement User Stories by writing high-quality Java software
• Review and help improve code submitted as Merge Requests
• Contribute to the architecture and technical design of solutions
• Participate in the deployment of the software, all the way to production
• Ensure software quality improves based on transparent metrics
• Be an active member of a SCRUM team, taking part in its rituals
• Deliver reliable software, matching business and technical requirements
• Deliver automated tests with the software
• Improve the frameworks and ensure their stability
• Bring new ideas on how to improve the software, tools, or processes currently in use
• Learn quickly and often, and share knowledge willingly
• Tackle issues that arise in any environment, be it sandbox or production
• Set up and maintain a practical development environment
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects and enhancements
• Support the continuous improvement process and propose own measures
• Actively support and participate in the implementation of Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration processes
• Review code collaboratively with other team members and brainstorm ways to make work easier and faster, sharing different experiences and learning from each other
• Support Operations in resolving production incidents and problem

Requirements

• 5+ years Java development: Extensive experience in backend and high-volume batch systems.
• Legacy Modernization: Proven track record in logic migration from 4GL environments (Linux, C, Oracle, Shell).
• Modern Stack: Proficiency in Java, JDBC, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
• SQL Expert: Deep understanding of relational databases and complex schemas.

Infrastructure & Tools

• GitLab: Version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerized environments (Kazan): Experience with container-based architectures.
• AI Toolset (Claude, LibreChat): Leveraging LLMs for code analysis and refactoring.

Domain & Bonus Skills

• Payments/Fintech: Focus on Acquiring/Issuing flows.
• Card Schemes & Protocols: Specific knowledge of Visa card scheme releases and the Base II protocol.
• CA-Gen: Hands-on experience (or the ability to master) legacy syntax and semantics.
