Our client, a fast-paced Saa S company with operations in Pretoria , is seeking an experienced Dev Ops Engineer with a specialization in Kubernetes to join their team on a contract basis. This role is designed for a highly skilled professional who can contribute immediately to optimizing and scaling our client's cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will work closely with development and operations teams to automate and streamline our software development lifecycle, from continuous integration and deployment to infrastructure provisioning and monitoring. The ideal candidate is an expert in container orchestration, possesses a strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, and is adept at troubleshooting complex distributed systems. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications. Develop and manage infrastructure as code (Ia C) using tools like Terraform and Ansible. Automate deployment, scaling, and management of applications on Kubernetes. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations. Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Kubernetes, containers, and cloud services. Collaborate with development teams to improve application reliability and operability. Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes. Participate in on-call rotations for production support. Requirements Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer with a strong focus on Kubernetes. Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, components, and networking. Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker). Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible. Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions). Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in complex environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
