Description
As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d), you will be part of a small, senior-heavy engineering team responsible for the reliability, automation, and continuous evolution of Kuehne+Nagel's API Management Platform. Connecting hundreds of internal and external API consumers worldwide, the platform enables everything from B2B integrations to real-time tracking and logistics workflows. How you create impact
- Operate and continuously improve the WSO2 API Manager platform running on Amazon EKS across multiple environments.
- Maintain and enhance Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and Terragrunt configurations for platform infrastructure.
- Support GitOps deployments by managing ArgoCD applications, troubleshooting sync issues, and improving GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor platform health using Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki, respond to alerts, and improve observability.
- Support the AWS Landing Zone migration, including gateway traffic routing, firewall policy automation, DNS, and Route 53 management.
- Contribute to AWS cloud security and the integration of AI/ML backends and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers through the API Management platform, enabling internal teams to build AI-powered services.
- Develop and improve operational scripts and tools using Bash and Python.
- Collaborate with developers and solution architects to onboard new APIs and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
What we would like you to bring
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and a basic understanding of workload management (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, and Ingress).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or Helm.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI, and an understanding of GitOps workflows (ArgoCD is a plus).
- Good knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, RDS, ALB/NLB, Route 53, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
- Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation and operational tasks, with a willingness to learn API management concepts.
- Curiosity about AI technologies and emerging patterns, such as LLM-powered APIs and agent frameworks.
- A structured approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail and curiosity when troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international, remote-friendly team.
