Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedDevOps Engineerto join our team in Newcastle on a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in building and maintaining development environments, implementing automation, and supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
You will work closely with development and testing teams to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with DevOps, development, and client teams to deliver robust environments and tools.
- Set up, configure, and maintain tools such asGitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, and testing platforms.
- Design and implementCI/CD pipelinesto enable continuous integration, testing, and delivery.
- Automate software development processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop and manageserverless integrationsbetween systems using APIs.
- Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools.
- Ensure high levels ofsystem performance, security, and reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience withpublic or private cloud platforms(e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding ofCI/CD conceptswith practical experience using tools such asGitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS Code Build.
- Experience withInfrastructure as Code (IaC)tools such as:
- Terraform
- AWS CloudFormation / CDK
- Expertise inconfiguration management tools:
- Ansible
- Puppet
- Chef
- Experience withcontainerization and orchestration:
- Docker / Docker Compose
- Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Working knowledge ofAgile and Lean methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language:
- Python
- Bash
- PowerShell
- Node.js / TypeScript
