Job Overview:
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for executing prioritized DevOps backlog activities supporting CI/CD pipeline engineering, automation, Observability implementation, infrastructure integration, and application onboarding. The engineer works closely with development teams, platform engineers, architects, and the Scrum Master to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency while implementing recommendations from the Observability and AIOps program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement deployment automation and release processes.
- Develop automation scripts to improve engineering efficiency.
- Configure source code repositories and branching strategies.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code where applicable.
- Support build, deployment, and release activities.
- Integrate monitoring and Observability solutions into application pipelines.
- Implement instrumentation required for application monitoring.
- Support application onboarding activities.
- Troubleshoot build, deployment, and environment issues.
- Support DevSecOps pipeline integrations.
- Maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical reviews.
- Recommend automation opportunities that improve delivery performance.
- Support operational incidents related to DevOps tooling and pipeline infrastructure.
Key Skills:
- CI/CD pipeline development
- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD
- Git version control
- PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, or Ansible)
- Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
- REST APIs
- YAML pipeline development
- Observability platforms (Dynatrace, Splunk, AppDynamics, OpenTelemetry, or similar)
- ServiceNow
- Jira and Confluence
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience
- Experience implementing enterprise CI/CD pipelines
- Experience supporting cloud-based application deployments
- Strong scripting and automation skills
- Experience with application onboarding and deployment automation
- Familiarity with DevSecOps best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
- Docker Certified Associate
