About the Role Our client, a fast-growing Saa S company located in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a skilled Dev Ops Engineer to join their dynamic technical team. This role operates on a hybrid model, allowing for a balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining the software build, test, and deployment processes. Your expertise will be critical in enhancing system reliability, scalability, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
- Manage and scale cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) principles.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve reliability and scalability.
- Develop and maintain robust scripting for automation tasks.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Implement and manage security best practices across the infrastructure.
- Ensure system availability, performance, and security through proactive measures.
- Document infrastructure configurations and operational procedures.
- Stay current with emerging Dev Ops tools and technologies.
- Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Circle CI.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
