DevOps Engineer

Summary

Own and enhance CI/CD and infrastructure stacks, automating workflows with Jenkins/GitHub, provisioning AWS environments via IaC, and managing Kubernetes and Linux systems for high-availability operations.

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a skilled DevOps to own and enhance our continuous integration, deployment, and infrastructure stack. In this role, you will be responsible for automating our build-and-release workflows, provisioning resilient AWS cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and managing containerized workloads in Kubernetes.

You will combine deep, low-level Linux expertise with modern automation tooling—maintaining high-availability web services, securing database systems, and establishing proactive platform monitoring to ensure zero-downtime operations.

Please note: you must have at least 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • CI/CD & Release Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust deployment pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub, managing artifact lifecycle workflows via Nexus Artifact Server.

  • Infrastructure as Code & Kubernetes: Provision, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC practices, while orchestrating containerized applications on Kubernetes.

  • System Administration & Linux: Maintain, harden, and optimize high-performance Enterprise Linux environments to guarantee platform stability and security.

  • Web & Load Balancing: Configured and managed NGINX web servers for high availability, utilizing reverse proxying, load balancing, and SSL/TLS certificate installation/termination.

  • Database Administration: Managed and optimized MySQL database instances, maintaining data integrity, security, and baseline operational health.

  • Monitoring & Observability: Establish proactive platform health monitoring, metrics, and alerting frameworks utilizing Zabbix.

  • Automation & Scripting: Write clean, maintainable automation code using Bash and Python to streamline operational tasks and environment provisioning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.

  • Advanced hands-on experience in Enterprise Linux administration (system internals, networking, performance tuning, and troubleshooting).

  • Proven track record with Jenkins pipeline development, GitHub workflows, and managing build dependencies with Nexus Artifact Server.

  • Direct experience provisioning AWS cloud services using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).

  • Solid experience deploying and managing workloads in production Kubernetes clusters.

  • Configured NGINX as an edge reverse proxy and load balancer with end-to-end SSL/TLS encryption.

  • Managed MySQL instances, handling account permissions, backup/restore procedures, and performance monitoring.

  • Practical experience setting up and configuring enterprise monitoring and alerting using Zabbix.

  • Strong competency in Bash and Python for system automation and tool development.

  • Independence. You do not need a PM, a Jira board, or a standing meeting to make progress.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Initiative and drive to do great things
