DevOps Engineer

Summary

Mid-level DevOps Engineer building and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes workloads for a healthcare-focused product company.

We're looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You'll work within established practices to build and improve CI/CD pipelines, manage Kubernetes workloads, and support the reliability of our systems with room to grow into more architectural ownership over time. This role suits someone with 2–4 years of hands‑on infrastructure experience who is comfortable operating independently on day‑to‑day tasks while collaborating with senior engineers on more complex design decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy AWS infrastructure using Terraform/OpenTofu, following existing patterns and conventions.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployments to: EC2 instances, support blue‑green deployment processes to enable zero‑downtime releases.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, escalating complex issues to senior engineers as needed.
  • Contribute to and maintain Grafana dashboards for SLA/SRE metrics.
  • Write shell/bash scripts to automate routine operational tasks.
  • Configure standard networking components (subnets, security groups, NAT, CIDR blocks, ports) within established architecture.
  • Apply secure data practices: SSL/TLS, private networking, S3 bucket policies.
  • Manage day-to-day IAM roles and policies, escalating complex policy design where needed.
  • Work confidently in Linux command-line environments for daily operations.

Required Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability role.
  • Working knowledge of AWS as a cloud provider.
  • Practical experience with Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Demonstrated experience building basic end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, with at least one of: Automated deployment to EC2, Automated deployment to EKS/Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux command-line environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience operating Kubernetes in a production or staging environment.
  • Exposure to building or maintaining Grafana dashboards for SLA/SRE metrics.
  • Familiarity with blue‑green deployment patterns.
  • Working knowledge of shell/bash scripting.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (subnets, security groups, NAT, CIDR blocks, ports).
  • Awareness of secure data practices (SSL/TLS, private networking, S3 bucket policies).
  • Some experience with AWS IAM managemen.
