DevOps Engineer (Python)

Summary

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, and Python to improve software delivery and reliability.

Job Description

Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerating delivery times. Working with development/operations teams, focusing on people, process, tools and a customer/user focus in a multi‑disciplinary team (Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD, etc.) to apply best practice in DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical implementation.
  • Act as a business SME, understanding business needs and supporting the DevOps team efficiently.
  • Negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure effective service operations and focused effort.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar DevOps role.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
  • Practical experience with Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Experience with monitoring tools for system reliability and performance.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with database management and schema change tools such as Liquibase.
  • Experience with GitOps principles.
  • Understanding of Java and Maven for builds.
  • Willingness to travel, right to work in the UK and ability to attain UK Security Clearance.
