DevOps Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing SaaS company, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their entirely remote engineering team. This is a critical role where you will be instrumental in building, automating, and managing our client's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of their applications. You will bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, implementing best practices for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure as code, and system monitoring. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of cloud platforms, automation tools, and scripting languages, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and remote-first environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Develop and maintain scripting for automation tasks (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across the infrastructure.
• Optimize infrastructure for cost and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging DevOps trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Understanding of networking, security, and monitoring principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
