DevOps Engineer

Designs and secures AWS cloud environments for critical workloads, focusing on DevSecOps and cloud security best practices.
Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements:- We need someone with strong commercial experience as a DevSecOps Engineer, Cloud Architect, Cloud Security Architect, or in a similar role.
- We need proven experience leading large AWS implementations or migrations in secure or high-assurance environments.
- We need hands-on expertise in designing and building cloud environments that run critical workloads.
- We need a strong understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps, and secure architecture principles.
- We need the ability to lead architectural discussions and influence technical direction.
- We need strong customer-facing consulting skills, including the ability to gather requirements and manage ambiguity.
- We need the ability to build strong relationships with customers and challenge established thinking where needed.
- We need strong presentation, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.
- We need team leadership experience.
- We need active MOD SC clearance and willingness to undergo DV clearance.
- We need regular on-site presence in Hereford.
- Desired: AWS certifications at Associate level or above.
- Desired: experience in the national defence sector or other highly secure or regulated environments.
- Desired: broader cloud knowledge across Azure and/or GCP.
- Desired: strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code.
- Desired: experience with secure cloud migrations and modern platform design.
- Desired: familiarity with containerisation, platform engineering, and secure CI/CD environments.
- Desired: strong understanding of cloud governance, observability, and operational security practice.
- We design and deliver secure cloud environments to meet customer challenges.
- We work across a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects.
- We lead architecture discussions and design exercises.
- We apply DevSecOps and cloud security best practice in high-assurance environments.
- We build deep customer relationships and work closely with technical and operational teams.
- We help customers understand, shape, and solve cloud and security challenges.
- We make pragmatic engineering trade-offs while maintaining strong technical quality.
- We collaborate with customers and partner suppliers to gather and shape requirements.
