DevOps Engineer - Permanent - Public Sector / Government Sector - Immediate Start
Location (Remote with Ad-Hoc Monthly Travel): Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle or Birmingham.
Salary: Up to £55,000 p/a
Clearance: Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance, have 5 years UK residency, and the correct right to work status in the UK.
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with experience in designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure and application delivery platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CI/CD pipeline development, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), containerization (Docker), Kubernetes orchestration, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and GCP), and DevSecOps practices.

- Ideally solid DevOps/Cloud Engineering background and experience managing infrastructure as code.
Your Role:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline software delivery and release management.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Commercial experience within DevOps, Cloud Engineering or Platform Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform.
- Good working knowledge of AWS and core AWS services.
- Experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerisation.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Experience automating infrastructure provisioning and deployment.
- Understanding of Git-based source control and modern software delivery practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Experience working within Agile engineering environments.
