What you'll do
- Collaborate with software developers and system operators to streamline and automate deployment processes, ensuring efficient integration and delivery of applications.
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions using cloud services, focusing on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to maintain high availability and reliability of applications.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes, reducing time to market for new features and updates.
- Implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that applications are secure and compliant with industry standards.
- Manage configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to ensure consistent environments across development, testing, and production.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and improve application efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for infrastructure and deployment solutions.
- Document processes, procedures, and configurations to enhance team knowledge sharing and facilitate onboarding of new team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents as they arise.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps and cloud computing to continuously improve our practices and tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps or related role, with a strong understanding of software development and IT operations.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby to automate tasks and improve workflows.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their respective services for deploying and managing applications.
- Strong knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and experience with branching strategies and workflows.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls, to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira for project management.
- Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
