Summary
On-site DevOps Engineer in Gloucester (37.5-hour week) placed via an energy/oil & gas recruiter, requiring eDV security clearance. Day-to-day work centres on Kubernetes platform work with Kustomize/Helm/Docker, Argo, and Git/GitLab, plus observability tooling. Contract day rate £350–£500.
DevOps Engineer (bridges software development and IT operations)
Gloucester – On site - 7.5 hr day (37.5 hour week)
Security clearance needed: eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting)
Start Date: As soon possible, very urgent
Rates approx £350 to £500 pd, based on experience levels:
Level 4 (Enable): Works with diverse complex activities, exercises significant autonomy, and guides others.
Level 5 (Ensure, advise): Provides broad direction and authoritative guidance, holding direct accountability for outcomes.
Level 6 (Initiate, influence): Makes high-level decisions, shapes policies, and exercises substantial organisational influence.
Mandatory requirements:
- Deep understanding of and experience with Kubernetes
- Thorough understanding of Kustomize, or transferable knowledge of Helm/Docker
- Experience with Argo
- Knowledge and usage of Git/GitLab
Should:
- Knowledge and experience of the ELK (Elastic, Logstash, Kafka) stack
- Understanding of platform architecture and how to make the best use of compute
Useful:
- Experience with Grafana and Prometheus
- Understanding of and experience with Terraform
- Knowledge of and experience with MinIO, Coder and Keycloak
