About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing technical team supporting complex, secure and mission-critical technology environments in Canberra.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable professional with strong experience across DevOps, automation, scripting and platform operations. You will play a key role in improving deployment processes, enhancing operational efficiency, supporting system integrations and ensuring the stability, security and reliability of enterprise platforms.

Working alongside multidisciplinary technical and business teams, you will contribute to the delivery of secure, scalable and repeatable technology solutions within a complex government environment.

Please note: Candidates must hold an active NV2 security clearance to be considered for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate deployments, release implementation and associated validation activities.
• Design, develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions to reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency.
• Support environment administration, configuration management and overall platform stability.
• Develop, implement and support system integrations and API-based solutions.
• Maintain and enhance operational tooling, monitoring and observability capabilities.
• Contribute to platform maintenance, lifecycle management and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Investigate complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective remediation solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to enable secure, reliable and repeatable delivery outcomes.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in DevOps, automation, scripting or operational engineering within complex technology environments.
• Practical knowledge of contemporary DevOps practices, deployment methodologies and engineering toolsets.
• Experience supporting system integrations, APIs and environment configuration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, with a focus on sustainable technical solutions.
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, security and configuration management principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working within enterprise, Federal Government, Defence, critical infrastructure or other highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.

Mandatory Requirements

• Current NV2 (Negative Vetting Level 2) Australian Government security clearance.
• Ability to work in secure government technology environments in Canberra.
• Relevant professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, automation or systems operations.
