Our client is modernizing decades-old infrastructure in the traditional capital markets by bringing together the brightest minds in engineering and finance. Their two teams, based in Amsterdam and New York, work hand in hand to build, enhance, and operate an SEC Registered Alternative Trading System (ATS) for the $8TN+ Securities Finance Market that underpins the global financial system.

Their cloud-native platform has been built entirely in-house from scratch to enhance and replace old technology stacks composed of disparate, costly, and inefficient systems. They work closely with the largest clearing house in the world, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (the DTCC), and some of the most prominent financial institutions across the globe. Their mission is to correct a long broken market structure by providing a neutral, value-driven, full-scope offering to market participants with varying needs and requirements. Behind all of this sits novel technology backed by research in the field of cryptography - and it’s not blockchain! Their long term vision is that with a foundation built on core infrastructure, and a reputation built on trust, they can shepherd solutions to some of the financial worlds’ largest problems through their expertise in Secure Multi-Party Computation (MPC). But first, they need to succeed in the enormous opportunity in front of them in Securities Finance.

The role:

They are seeking experienced Developer Operations Engineers to assist their existing team in expanding the quality, reliability, and performance of their platform. Their system architecture contains multiple components to serve the needs of a highly complex and complicated sector of the capital markets. Securities Lending workflows that are managed by their system rely on a combination of pre-trade, trade matching, ongoing life cycle management, reporting, and multiple layers and endpoints of connectivity. They have built a robust UI that sits atop all of this, along with an API layer used for direct server to server integration. You will work closely with their entire engineering and business teams, pushing forward internal and external infrastructure needs. To achieve this, you are someone passionate about delivering a high quality experience to customers, and anticipating demands of a rapidly scaling and highly complex ecosystem.

Core Responsibilties

• Collect data on, plan, and execute infrastructure based initiatives aimed towards creating a smooth experience for their customers
• Create well structured documentation for various infrastructure needs
• Be part of a team to solve problems that affect customers
• Work with developers to define deployment hierarchies for features
• Spike information to be able to find ways to better the deployed environments and their resilience
• Work in an Infrastructure as code environment, and be able to actively contribute to its growth
• Execute On-call responsibilities
• Drive clear communication and ownership of your initiatives with business and engineering teams

Be Experienced in:

• Cloud environments
• Setting up networking infrastructure (e.g.: VPNs, LBs, etc.)
• Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to attack problems in real-time
• You care… deeply… about the work you are doing equally among the most mundane or most enjoyable tasks

Nice to have:

• Have experience with:
• Security monitoring tools/processes
• CI/CD (Gitlab an extra plus)
• Experience with capital markets infrastructure including exchanges, trading venues, clearance and settlement ecosystems
• Understanding of equity, fixed income, and derivatives products and trading strategies
• Understanding of financing markets and underlying workflows
• Understanding of execution systems and related components such as smart order routers and algorithmic trading products

Have worked in environments with:

• That heavily interact with databases and message queues
• Have strict availability requirements
• and/or have a lot of connectivity with external partners / customers
• Experience in a Startup environment
• Developed Monitoring and Triaging solutions
