DevOps Engineer (Vmware Automation)
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in VMware automation to help design, implement, and migrate our infrastructure automation platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with vCenter VM provisioning using vRealize Automation (vRA) and SaltStack, and will play a key role in migrating the existing vRA-based setup to Terraform and Ansible. Strong Linux and Windows administration skills, along with modern DevOps tooling knowledge, are essential.
Job Accountabilities
Infrastructure Automation
- Automate VM provisioning on VMware vCenter using vRealize Automation (vRA) integrated with SaltStack
- Design and maintain scalable, reusable automation workflows for VM lifecycle management
- Integrate OS-level configuration and post-provisioning tasks using Salt, Ansible, or similar tools
Migration & Modernization
- Assess existing vRA-based automation and workflows
- Support and manage the existing vRA-based automation
- Lead the migration from vRA to Terraform and Ansible with minimal service disruption
- Refactor legacy blueprints into Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform modules
- Implement Ansible playbooks for configuration management and application deployment
- Advanced Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration
- Automate OS hardening, patching, user management, and system configuration
- Troubleshoot OS-level, network, and performance issues
Vmware & Platform Engineering
- Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter, ESXi, clusters, datastores, and networking
- Strong understanding of VMware automation APIs and integrations
- Collaborate with virtualization, networking, and security teams
DevOps & Tooling
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and configuration code
- Work with Git and enforce version control best practices
- Monitor, log, and optimize automation workflows
Working Experience
5–8+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or Cloud Engineering
