What you'll do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy that aligns with the company's objectives, providing regular updates on performance metrics to engineering leadership.
• Establish a framework for monitoring DORA metrics, focusing on key indicators such as deployment frequency, change failure rate, mean time to recovery (MTTR), and lead time.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork among development, quality assurance, and operations teams.
• Create an Internal Developer Platform designed to streamline workflows and alleviate cognitive burdens on engineers.
• Oversee the management of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to facilitate frequent releases, while enforcing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Set and maintain service level objectives (SLOs) and service level agreements (SLAs), promoting a culture of constructive post-incident reviews.
• Incorporate security scanning and compliance checks into the software delivery pipeline to ensure robust security practices.
• Design and implement hybrid and multi-cloud architectures that prioritize stability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead recruitment efforts, mentor team members, and establish clear career development pathways for the DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience within the technology sector, with at least 5 years dedicated to DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
• Demonstrated success in managing high-concurrency and high-availability production systems that handle over 10 million requests daily.
• Proven experience leading a team of 30 or more professionals in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive knowledge of container orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes, with a focus on capacity planning and incident response.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD for automating software delivery processes.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform, Helm, and Ansible, to streamline infrastructure management.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, or Java, aimed at developing automation tools and platform components.

Nice to have

• Experience in sectors such as fintech, e-commerce, gaming, or healthcare, which can provide valuable insights into industry-specific challenges.
• A track record of building teams from scratch or significantly enhancing the performance of existing teams.
• Familiarity with cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, which can aid in designing effective cloud solutions.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Go, Python, and Java. These tools are essential for managing modern software development and deployment processes effectively.
