The DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization's cloud and infrastructure environments. This role will manage CI/CD pipelines, virtualization platforms, cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, automation, and monitoring while ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across production and development environments.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, process-driven, and passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Administer and support VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- Install, configure, secure, and troubleshoot Linux servers across multiple distributions.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and modern DevOps practices.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS infrastructure, including Landing Zone, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, Load Balancers, and related services.
- Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, security, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Security, and Product teams to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with security, governance, and operational best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.
- Participate in on-call support and infrastructure maintenance activities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Hands-on experience administering VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux administration across multiple distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Amazon Linux, etc.).
- Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Landing Zone, CloudWatch, Route 53, Auto Scaling, and Load Balancers.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong understanding of networking, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, SSL/TLS, and security best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK is preferred.
- Experience supporting production environments with high availability and disaster recovery.
- AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, VMware, or Terraform certifications are a plus.
